What will we be doing all day at WFF26?
There will be a relaxed programme of pre-arranged activities, as well as plenty of space for free time and co-creation. If you would like to bring your hula hoop, your badminton set or your slackline, please do that! Because there are four function rooms at Trigonos, there will always be space for impromptu activities, and there will be a deliberate ‘Empty Room’ schedule available each day for last-minute sign-ups. The Welsh Fruit Festival is primarily a community event that will be made by the people who come to it, so please have a think about what you might be able to contribute, and bring any things you will need to run your session :-)
That said, the pre-arranged activities will include things like an educational programme of talks, small group sessions (Q&As) and raw chef classes, wellness activities such as yoga, meditation and sound healing, fitness activities such as walking, hiking, gymnastics and ecstatic dance, children’s activities such as a bug hunt and a sports day, creative activities such as arts and crafts and writing workshops, and evening activities such as a games night, an open mic night and a speed meet. There may be campfires and singing!
However, the main purpose of the event is for everyone (you!) who attends to have better health at the end of the event than they did at the beginning. Hopefully you will have engaged in some experiential learning in relation to what that means that you can take home with you and put into practice in your daily life. So what does that mean?!?
It means that although there will be plenty of things to do, overall the focus will be on actually living health, rather than learning about how to live health. We will experience with our bodies what true health looks and feels like. We will learn how to prepare and eat truly healthful food, how to move in ways that work for our bodies, and how to allow ourselves to rest. It’s really important not to get so caught up in the schedule of activities that we forget to breathe, to experience the beauty of the place, and to spend meaningful quality time with each other.
You might decide to go on one or two day trips (come on... Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon might have to be done, or maybe the less strenuous Three Lakes Hike, or the Sygun Copper mine, Caernarfon Castle or Dinas Dinlle beach??), but for the most part, let’s have a week of listening to our own rhythms and the rhythms of nature, and of meeting our physical, mental and spiritual needs together in the spirit of community…
What people are saying…
I have only been on two fruit festivals. On both I was faced with non-judgemental loving kind people who want to live like they were created to live - RAW. It has inspired me to be a better person both inside and out.
No question too silly or inappropriate, always welcomed and answered with enthusiasm and a passion I haven’t experienced anywhere else. (Anita)
I love to go to fruit festivals just to see my friends and be immersed in all the delicious fruit from all over the world (Wendy)
Eating a fruit based raw vegan diet has allowed me to do more of what I love in life, and be able to show up with more energy and joy. The longer I follow this path the more eternally greatful I am that it found me. And even more greatful for the beautiful souls I’ve met along the way! (Maisie)
Outdoor activities
Dorothea Quarry is a low level walk that you can do straight out from Trigonos (the red X on the map pictured). The Nantlle valley is an old slate mining area and this walk takes you around two now-flooded quarries and past some of the old buildings that were associated with them.
Would you like to lead a local walk?

Wild swimming
Yes, you can wild swim in the lake at Trigonos at your own risk. Please wear a swimsuit and consider a wetsuit. Shoes designed for wearing in water may also be a good idea.
If there is enough interest we may arrange for a local wild swimming instructor to run dedicated session.
Please DO NOT swim alone or in the dark.
Children MUST be supervised when down by the lake AT ALL TIMES.
